Alexander Mason (Conductor)

Alexander Mason (Musical Director) is Assistant Organist at Lichfield Cathedral and Associate Conductor of the Lichfield Cathedral Chamber Choir. He was a chorister at Gloucester Cathedral before continuing his education as Organ Scholar at Worcester College, Oxford. He completed postgraduate studies in organ improvisation at The Hague and in choral conducting at The Royal College of Music.

 

He is particularly well-known as an organist-improviser having won prizes at international competitions and performances on BBC Radio 3 and CD. He has appeared as a soloist at The City of London Festival and toured to Bermuda, France, Germany, Ireland, Lebanon, Norway and Switzerland. He works regularly as an accompanist and continuo player for the Birmingham Bach Choir, Ex Cathedra, ECO and ESO. He has recorded for The Vicar of Dibley (BBC1) and Howard Goodall's Organ Works (Channel 4). Prior to his appointment in Lichfield he was the founder/conductor of a number of choirs in London.

Natalie Clifton-Griffith (Singing Teacher)

 

Natalie Clifton-Griffith (Singing Teacher) studied at Birmingham Conservatoire gaining first class honours before completing postgraduate studies in concert singing at The Royal College of Music. She is fast gaining a reputation for her performances of the Baroque and Classical repertoire, as indicated by her success at the London Handel Singing Competition 2002 where she was awarded second prize.

 

She is a regular soloist acoss the UK and Europe and performances have taken her to many British Cathedrals, London's South Bank, The BBC Proms and Symphony Hall, festivals in Finland, France and Germany and tours to Japan and USA working with The English Concert, Ex Cathedra, The Sixteen, I Fagiolini and RPO, CBSO and ECO. Natalie has recorded for BBC Radio 3, EMI, Hyperion, and Archiv. She teaches singing at King Edward's High School for girls, Birmingham and is a vocal tutor for the boy choristers of Lichfield Cathedral.
