Joining the Choir
Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact the school to book a place at the next choral scholarship auditions.
Girls will be aged 9 - 12 at the time of the audition for the first year (10 - 12 on 1st September 2006, i.e. in Years 6, 7 & 8 for the academic year 2006-7) after which the choir will grow year by year up to age 15. After this, members of the girls choir will join former boy choristers to form a new Youth Choir (16 - 18).
At the audition, girls will be asked to:
- sing a prepared short piece of their own choice,
- sing a new piece in a choral group,
- sing some vocal exercises, and
- participate in aural exercises.
Those short-listed for the choir will be required to sit an academic assessment for the school to ensure that they could benefit from the education which the school offers. For more details see the school's website.
