About the Choir
In September 2006 Lichfield Cathedral School launched an exciting new girls choir for talented singers.
This choir is building on the Cathedral School's existing reputation for musical excellence.
The girls rehearse before school on Monday and Thursday mornings during term and perform weekly in Lichfield Cathedral for the school service on Tuesday mornings. As the choir matures the musical programme will expand substantially.
Scholarships are awarded to girls entering the school in Years 6, 7 or 8 at a value of 20% of school fees, which in cases of need could be combined with a Bursary. Five scholarships are available in each year group, and would normally last for the duration of a girl's time at the school. In addition, all girls winning scholarships will receive free singing tuition from Natalie Clifton-Griffith.
The boy choristers of Lichfield Cathedral Choir are being offered Choral and Music Scholarships at the school after their voices have changed at age 13+. They will receive vocal tuition and at age 15/16 will join with the former members of the girls choir to form a potentially outstanding and unrivalled Youth Choir.
